It has been a while since I wrote a Thought of the Day post but the roller coaster ride I had last week has revived it. What happened?! I’m glad you asked. A lot, so I’ll limit it to two things.
First, the production scale broke which meant nothing could be made until it was replaced. Thankfully, I had a cheap scale from Big Lots so I got shipments processed. But, things like soaps & creams where lye and preservative systems are involved require precision and accuracy.
Then, one of our essential oil shipments got held by customs for inspection & the supplier didn’t notify us of the delay.
In the midst of all the craziness, I realized I was very calm. Back in the day, I would have been flustered and thinking ahead about all the things that would go wrong because I didn’t have the supplies I needed, my production schedule was thrown off, I’m exhausted, and so on and so forth. I’m at a different place now as an entrepreneur & adult. No amount of worrying could fix the scale or get the essential oils delivered. So, I decided to do what the British government suggested during World War 2 in 1939…
This badge was a gift from friends and I did as it said. I focused on the things I could do. I ordered a new scale & a smaller back up one I had my eye on. I had my supplier send a replacement order which arrived yesterday. And although Memorial weekend added to the delay, I got other important things done like packaging soaps, calling clients to say thank you, working on design concepts and taking photos for the first Summer Launch List exclusive. If you’re not on the list, click here to join. We’ve got some new products on the way and you don’t want to miss the behind the scenes look and special offers.
Well, that’s all for my Thought of the Day. So, the next time the “mess” hits the fan in your life remember to “Keep Calm & Carry On.” I’m off to catch up on production and product testing. I hope your day is going well.
Until Next time… Be well,
Celebrating a Natural. Beautiful. You.
