Dishwasher detergent collage with text

I recently purchased a different brand of dishwasher detergent and didn’t like the results. Then I remembered I had the ingredients on hand to make my own. Here is one variation of my recipe. It is enough for one load.

Dishwasher Detergent Recipe

1 tbsp citric acid
1 tbsp baking soda
1 tbsp borax
A few drops of citrus essential oil
(I like grapefruit, lemon or orange)

Combine the ingredients and add to the detergent compartment of your dishwasher.

Citrus essential oils are a great fresh scent and help to cut grease. You may need to alter this recipe depending on the water in your area to get the result you want. You can always increase this recipe to make a larger amount of detergent. I use my dishwasher as a drying rack 95% of the time so I only make the detergent when I need to use it.

Let me know if you give this recipe a try.
