My friend Rachel who lives in Portland has been sending me fresh roses from her garden. I love homegrown roses and the benefits they boast. Here are three ways you can use rose petals for your face, bath, and as a tea.
- Facial steam – rose is a natural astringent and anti-inflammatory
- Herbal tea – infuse rose petals in a hot cup of tea or with lemonade. Rose petals are believed to be a liver tonic that aids in liver function
- Bath potion – add a handful of rose petals to a warm or cool bath for a gentle cleansing bath. You can also add a cup of milk and a few tablespoons of honey for some skin softening.
